Spherical roller thrust bearings are single-row, self-aligning roller bearings. They consist of solid shaft and housing washers and asymmetrical barrel rollers with cages. The cage holds the roller and cage assembly together with the shaft washer. The bearings can be dismantled. This means that the bearing parts can be installed separately. The axial spherical roller bearings absorb very high axial loads and allow relatively high speeds. Due to the raceways inclined to the bearing axis, the bearings can also be subjected to radial loads. Here briefly about the sealing and lubrication of axial spherical roller bearings. They are not sealed and not greased. Spherical roller thrust bearings are generally lubricated with oil. In some cases, lubrication with grease containing EP additives is also possible. Sufficient supply of the contact points between the rollers and the guide rib is best achieved by completely filling the bearings with grease. Roller bearings can be used at operating temperatures from -30°C to +200°C, limited by the lubricant.
